Here is an article from 2001, where the author expresses her fear for her little nieces in Palestine. She won't let them leave the house because she is afraid Israel will target their eyes. Over 500 children that she has seen have lost an eye to gunfire. It is almost as if it was deliberate, this attack against Palestinian eyes. It sounds funny almost, how weird, for such a large, highly trained army to deliberately target young children and shoot them in the eye. Is this target practice? I'm sure somewhere, someone reads a similar article and says to himself, "what bullshit, these human rights organizations that report these atrocities exaggerate and tell lies." When something is right in front of your face, though, it is difficult to deny.
Here, here is the story that Al Jazeera (English... so more pro-Israeli than Palestinian) featured two days ago about children and families seeking shelter in UNWRA schools where they assumed they would be safe
and then not 24 hours later, here is the story of those same schools attacked by Israeli tanks, and this after the UN gave the coordinates to the IDF to prevent any "miscalculation" on the part of the army.
Sure, you say, but these stories come from Al Jazeera. How can they be accurate? Please, Al Jazeera in English, in order to attract more readers I guess, is really awful, almost the equivalent of CNN or NPR these days when it comes to coverage of the Palestinian suffering.
Please, tell me it is not IDF policy to target young Palestinians, helpless, hopeless, innocent children. Please.
